What is a perfume?

A perfume is a mixture of products from natural origins (such as Essential Oils, Absolutes and Resins), nature identical and synthetic materials. The average perfume contains about 50 different raw materials but can consist of 3-200 depending on its use.

What is an essential oil?

An essential oil is the naturally extracted essence from various parts of a plant. Essential oils can come from flowers, seeds, stems, roots and other sections of a plant. The most common methods of extracting essentials oils are distillation and expression.

What is a natural aromatic?

A Natural Aromatic is a single molecule (ingredient) contained in an essential oil, often as its main ingredient. This molecule is extracted by distillation from the essential oil without any alteration. The advantage of such process is that the extracted product (still 100% natural) smells different than the essential oil it was extracted from, thus bringing a new odor to the Perfumer’s palette, a wider choice in 100% natural ingredients to work with and the possibility of wildly creative fragrances.

What is organic?

An organic essential oil is produced by incorporating organic farming methods.  Essential Oils can be considered organic if the plant has not been treated with pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, genetically modified organisms, sewage sludge or ionizing radiation.

What is allergen-free?

A fragrance is considered allergen-free when it is free from the 26 raw materials listed on the directive 2003/15/EC of the European Parliament.
